1. Overview

Objective

Our escort robot would free security personnel from short-distance escort or can be used as a virtual tour guide. It is a mechanixcal device that utilizes multiple measurements taken from GPS, compass and iRobot create in order to escort someone from one place to another place based on Google Maps instructions. We also have a webcam which monitors the face to make sure the person who is using this device is following the robot.

We designed a GUI to choose the destination and also to show the present location using Google Maps

Due to GPS signal, our robot should be used outdoors. Here just show a brief trip going from CoC to Clough Commons.
